The possible symptoms of lung cancer discussed above are not sure signs of the disease. Other conditions may cause these symptoms. And some people with the disease exhibit no symptoms of lung cancer. The American Cancer Society estimates that 175,000 new cases of lung cancer will be diagnosed this year. They also estimate that 165,000 people will also die of the disease this year, making the leading cause of cancer death among women and men.
